of the City The Kölner Dom’s mighty towers dominate Cologne’s

Colonia – a
Roman City Cologne has been in existence for more than two
millennia. It was established as a settlement in the
first century BC when the Romans sailed up the Rhine
river.

achieve the status of a Roman city and about the
scandals that came in her wake.
The Old
Landmark Long before the cornerstone for the Kölner Dom was
laid, the huge Romanesque church,
Gross St. Martin, was the dominant landmark of the city.
